I am an integrative psychotherapist and I integrate aspects of person-centred, systemic, narrative and trauma-informed poly-vagal theory into my work. This approach allows me to provide a comprehensive and personalised support system. I am also a life coach, specialised and experienced in support for neurodivergent individuals and families, working in a way that supports individual needs and executive functioning skill challenges, as well as how to manage differing needs in a family environment. My experience is diverse, and I work with what is meaningful to enhance your therapeutic experience.
Counselling offers a confidential, therapeutic relationship to bring about the change and personal growth you choose. The therapeutic relationship usually provides significant relief and healing. However, the stories we are working with may be unsettling and disrupt your usual way of being. You may also realise that you may want to change the way that you are relational with others, and this may be unsettling for those people. In a nutshell, it is essential to know that counselling is not a quick fix that removes discomfort immediately. Counselling offers a chance to change your way of being with yourself and others, and with that, the ripple effect may be felt in many areas of your life.
I have experience working with young people, especially those who are neurodivergent. I work in a neuro-informed way and am understanding of the particular challenges that come with this including sensory differences, managing demand avoidance, restrictive eating and social/communication challenges.
I offer online therapy via a platform called Whereby. Sessions are conducted securely and confidentially.
I offer online in-person therapy on Saturdays in Stafford town centre. Please contact me for further details.
I have completed a level 1 course in therapy using Minecraft in therapy (THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL MINECRAFT PRODUCT AND NOT APPROVED BY OR ASSOCIATED WITH MOJANG) and have found this modality beneficial, especially for young people. Interest in video games can be incorporated in different ways in therapy, from speaking about them to screen sharing and/or directly joining each other in a virtual world. Care and consideration are taken to ensure this is done in a safe way for you as a client and myself, and this will be discussed/contracted before sessions start.
